Born in the Netherlands and raised in the Midwest. My interest in art and photography began back in early childhood. I've always enjoyed drawing and painting, and my fascination with photography began at around age nine when I received a toy camera that shot "real" 120 film. Our local corner Pharmacy sent the film for processing and of course when you're a kid, it seemed like forever until you could pick up your prints. Somtimes surprised, sometimes disappointed but always wanting to take more photos. I still have a few of those old shots.
After High School I attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago where I studied illustration and design. Soon afterwards I began my journey as an industrial designer, all the while continuing my interest in photography, drawing, painting and all things cowboy.
The collection of photographs seen here represent the places and people in our world that have inspired me as an artist and excited me as a photographer. In presenting these images, it's my hope that you may also experience that visual moment captured in time, and perhaps evoke an emotion or recall a memory from another place or time, real or imagined.
